The Department of History at Amherst College invites applications for a one-year full-time Visiting Assistant Professor in modern European history (excluding specialization in Central Europe and Russia). We are seeking a person prepared to teach a range of courses (two in each semester) and advise honors students. Candidates should have or expect to have completed their Ph.D. by September 1, 2010. Strong commitments to scholarship and teaching a diverse undergraduate student body are essential.
