The Department of East Asian Studies at New York University invites applications for appointment as an Assistant Professor/Faculty Fellow in modern Japan studies. The appointment will be for two years beginning September 1, 2010, subject to budgetary and administrative approval. Candidates must have received a Ph.D. within five years of the date of
appointment and have a strong commitment to teaching. Fields of
expertise sought include film and media studies, and Japanese
intellectual history, but we encourage all applicants engaged with critical and methodological issues connected to Japan and East Asian Studies.
