Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in Qatar is seeking a professor of modern European history with a focus on the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Rank is open, but candidates should have the Ph.D. in hand by the time of appointment. The successful candidate will have a record of or potential for distinguished scholarly research and experience in high-quality undergraduate teaching. The teaching load is two courses each semester. The appointment is for a non-tenure-track, three-year term, with the possibility of renewal.
Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in Qatar (sfs.georgetown.edu/qatar) is located in Education City in Doha, Qatar, and offers a four-year undergraduate curriculum leading to the Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (BSFS). Our faculty’s portfolio of research spans a variety of topics in the social sciences and humanities, from international relations to linguistic studies, while faculty-mentored student research projects range from media perceptions to migrant remittances.
