Alverno College provides students with real-life, hands-on experiences in the classroom, in study-abroad opportunities and in professional internships related to their major. These experiences, among others, help to support Alverno's ranking in U.S.News & World Report's America's Best Colleges 2008 guide, "Programs to Look For", "Best Universities-Master's-Midwest Region" and “Schools to Watch” section, listing schools which implemented striking innovations and changes.
The School of Business has an opportunity for an Assistant Professor to provide leadership and direction to a new and developing interdisciplinary minor in Asian Studies. Teach general courses in economics, develop and teach undergraduate courses on East Asian economics, as well as economics at the MBA level. Advise students. Actively participate in outreach efforts to the business community in Milwaukee and Wisconsin.
Position begins August 2009 and is on track for continuous appointment and promotion in rank.
Requires PhD or near completion. Requires background in economics with a primary specialization in East Asia and a documented record of successful teaching experience. The ability to work closely with colleagues across disciplines and in a highly collaborative environment is essential.
