The Department of Journalism and Media Studies at the School of
Communication, Information and Library Studies (SCILS) at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, New Brunswick, anticipates a faculty position for a scholar who will teach in the area of New Media Collaboration and Information Design.
Applications are invited in the following areas: technology and digital journalism, including issues relating to convergence, and the adaptation of news to the online environment; implications of technology for freedom of expression, social networking (particularly as used by historically marginalized populations), virtual reality, politics, online gaming and aesthetics, creativity and entertainment in alternative and traditional media. Positions are tenure-track teaching/research faculty appointments at the assistant professor level, with possibility of associate or full professor hires. PhD required. Job responsibilities include teaching and research.
