The Department of Political Science and Geography at The University of Texas at San Antonio invites applications for a tenure or tenure-track position in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations at the rank of Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor to begin September 1, 2009, pending budgetary approval. Additional fields of interest: International Law & Organizations; International Development; and/or International Communication. Responsibilities of the successful candidate include: pursuing an active research and publishing agenda; teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students at the UTSA Downtown or 1604 Campus; serving the university, profession, and community.
Required Qualifications for Full Professor or Associate Professor: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Political Science or a related field, with a specialization in International Relations. The successful applicant must have a prominent record of scholarly and professional publications commensurate with either rank. The successful applicant also must have a record of high-quality teaching in a variety of international relations courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as advising graduate students in conducting research. The ability to acquire external funding is a plus.
Required Qualifications for Assistant Professor: Applicants must have a Ph.D. by August 31, 2009, in Political Science or a related field with a specialization in International Relations, and be prepared to teach a variety of international relations courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate must demonstrate potential for and commitment to scholarly research and quality teaching.
