The Ohio State University's Department of African American and African Studies invites applications and nominations for applications for a tenure-eligible assistant professor in African history. We are looking for a candidate whose research and teaching commitments examine pre-colonial or postcolonial Africa. Preference will be given to candidates with interdisciplinary or comparative perspectives. The successful candidate will teach both undergraduate and graduate courses. The department offers an undergraduate major and minor, M.A. and a graduate minor. The appointment will begin in Autumn 2009.
