20th Century United States. The history department at East Carolina University invites applications for a tenure track assistant professorship, to begin on August 17, 2009. Responsibilities include teaching American history survey courses as well as graduate and undergraduate courses in at least two of these areas: Progressive Era, New Deal/World War II, and post-1945 United States. Expertise in oral history would be considered a strength. Appropriate service to the university, community and profession is expected. Ph.D. in History required at the time of application. Preference will be given to candidates who offer records of scholarly publications and teaching excellence or evidence of promise as scholars and teachers.
