Atlantic World. The history department at East Carolina University invites applications for a tenure track assistant professorship, to begin on August 17, 2009. Responsibilities include teaching World Civilization survey courses as well as graduate and undergraduate courses in one or more of these areas: African Diaspora, Atlantic Migration, Iberian Expansion, or Caribbean History. Appropriate service to the university, community, and profession is expected. Ph.D. in History required at the time of application. Preference will be given to candidates who offer records of scholarly publications and teaching excellence or evidence of promise as scholars and teachers.
