Trent Universitys Frost Centre for Canadian Studies and Native Studies invites applications for a two year post doctoral fellowship in Canadian Studies, commencing Sept. 2008. Candidates should have a recently completed PhD thesis (or be defending by August, 2008) and scholarly expertise in disciplinary and/or interdisciplinary research relating to the study of Canada, or comparative studies encompassing Canada.
Preference will be given to candidates with research interests relating to labour studies, Canadian political economy, social theory and working class history as the candidate will be supervised by the Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Canadian Studies, Professor Bryan Palmer. Candidates will be expected to engage in academic life at the Frost Centre and will teach one upper year seminar in Canadian Studies or a related discipline. Annual compensation is $40,000. Candidates are also eligible to apply for internal research funds available from the Frost Centre.
