The Department of History at Florida International University in Miami invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the history of Colonial or Revolutionary North America up to 1815. The position has a 2/2 teaching load and a competitive salary. Candidates must be able to contribute to our active M.A. and Ph.D. programs and have the Ph.D. in hand by time of appointment. Applicants in all subfields are welcome, but those with teaching or research interests in the Atlantic World are especially encouraged to apply. A record of ongoing scholarly research and publication is strongly preferred. FIU is a member of the State University System of Florida and is a Carnegie Research University (RU/H). We expect to conduct preliminary interviews at the AHA meeting in Washington, DC, in January.
