The University of South Carolina Department of History invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Public History to begin August 16, 2008. Public historians with teaching and research interests in African-American heritage preservation (broadly defined), museum studies, and digital history are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will teach graduate courses in the departments Public History Program, as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in his/her areas of expertise. Ph.D. required by August 15, 2008. Full consideration will be given to applications received by December 15.
