Full-time, tenure track assistant professorship in early modern German Studies, to begin July 1, 2008. Ph.D. by date of appointment preferred. We invite applications from candidates in German, comparative literature, history, media studies, religious studies, and other fields related to the study of German literature and culture prior to 1750. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute fully to the undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures (http://www.unc.edu/depts/german) and to take a role in the newly formed Program in Medieval and Early Modern Studies (http://mems.unc.edu). Native or near-native fluency in German and English required.
