Princeton University, Department of Religion, invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in the religions of South Asia, Southeast Asia, or the Himalayas, to begin September 2008. The candidate should be an expert in one or more of the religious traditions of one of these three areas, with interests that complement those of continuing faculty in the subfield of Asian Religions. Historical period, methodological approach, and particular tradition(s) of focus are open to consideration. Candidates must show evidence of excellence in scholarship and promise in teaching. It is expected that the candidate will have completed the Ph.D. by the time the position begins or will be very close to completing it.
