Applications are invited for a tenure-track appointment in the Department of English, Faculty of Arts at York University. The position offered is at the Assistant Professor level in the English Department and Professional Writing Program. Field of specialization is open, but applicants should have the ability to teach in one or more areas of rhetoric and/or writing, including some mixture of writing and historical or theoretical courses at graduate and undergraduate levels. Qualifications include a PhD or equivalent terminal degree in English or a related field (Rhetoric, Communications, Journalism, Creative Writing).

The appointment to begin July 1, 2007 is subject to budgetary approval by the University. Salary will depend on qualifications and experience.
