The postdoctoral fellowship programme of the Centro de Estudios Políticos y Constitucionales (CEPC) aims at bringing outstanding doctors for pursuing up to three years of postdoctoral research at the Centre. Their work should fit within one of the Research Programmes of the CEPC. Ideally, an interdisciplinary approach should inspire research. Conditions 1. Eligibility. Six fellowships are open to candidates holding a postgraduate doctoral degree. The Fellowships are intented to suppport post-doctoral research by academics in the early stages of their professional career. Accordingly, applications will be considered from candidates who successfully defended their Ph. D. not more than five years prior to the closing date for the current competition (31st January 2006). Appropriate extensions to the five year rule will be allowed in the case of applicants whose academic career has been interrupted because of maternity leave, illness or compulsory military service. For these cases, an additional year can be added to the 5 years period. Explanation of such circumstances should be included in the application. Supporting documents will be requested from candidates proposed for selection. 2. Nationality. Candidates of any nationality are eligible for the Fellowships. 3. Candidates should prove that they have spent at least 12 months in a research institution different to the one awarding the doctorate degree 4. Duration of the Fellowships. The Fellowships are for 3 years. 5. Residence. Fellows are required to reside in Madrid for the duration of their Fellowship in order that they may take an active part in the academic activities of the CEPC. 6. Stipend. Total stipend is 49.000 euros per year gross (plus benefits). 7. Taxation. Fellows must comply with Spanish taxation rules. 8. Medical insurance. Fellows are covered by the Spanish Social Security scheme. 9. Removal/installation expenses. There is no provision for removal or installation expenses. |
