McGILL UNIVERSITY—The Department of History invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in Eastern European history, effective 1 September 2006. A research specialization in the nineteenth or twentieth centuries is preferred. The successful candidate should hold a PhD and show promise of excellence in teaching and scholarly research. The ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses is required. A letter of application, curriculum vitae, one-page statement of teaching philosophy, and three confidential letters of reference should be sent to Professor Brian Lewis, Chair, Department of History, McGill University, 855 Sherbrooke Street West, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, H3A 2T7.
