The First World War was one of the most significant catastrophes that the history of humanity had seen. It influenced the World deeply in a variety of ways and resulted in regime changes, and reshaped the political map of the World. This great tragic event must be reinterpreted and evaluated in its centenary through the eyes of the warring countries’ historians. The First World War Centenary International Symposium will be held in Akdeniz University (Antalya) between 12-15 November 2014 with the collaboration of Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University.
In this symposium the papers related to the following topics are particularly encouraged and invited: the international relations of the period, the political developments in the countries that participated in World War I, the logistics and technology of the war, the socio-economic changes, migrations, and changing nature of the daily life. The symposium especially aims at bringing the scholars of the countries which were involved in that Great War.
We will be delighted and greatly honored to see and to host you among the contributing scholars in this occasion.
