Philosophers and literary scholars unite in this conference on Coleridge and Contemplation at Kyoto Notre Dame University, Japan, 27-29 March, 2015.
Key speakers include Jim Mays (UCD), Douglas Hedley (Cambridge), David E. Cooper (Durham), Andy Hamilton (Durham), Mark Lussier (Arizona State), Kaz Oishi (Tokyo), James Kirwan (Kansai).
The conference aims to recover a contemplative direction in Philosophy and in Literary Studies and returns to the literary and philosophical ngs of S. T. Coleridge in the service of reflections on contemplation.
The second stage of this project is to produce a book collecting essays developed from the conference. This will include essays by the Plenary Speakers, and will also give an opportunity for shorter sessional papers to be developed and published as longer articles.
