Institute for Medieval Research, University of Nottingham Postgraduate Conference 2014 Call for Papers: Contacts & Networks: Interactions in the Medieval World
The Institute for Medieval Research welcomes papers for the annual Postgraduate Conference, to be held Saturday 5 July 2014, at the University of Nottingham. Proposals will be accepted for papers relating to the connected themes of contacts and networks focused on any country, culture or geographical region across the middle ages.
Possible themes may include, but are not limited to: - Economic interactions - Travel and Travel writing - Trade networks - Political and ecclesiastical diplomacy - Sites of exchange - Religious contact and confrontation - Social life on the borders - Literary transmissions and intertextuality - Material exchange and acculturation - Letter writing and correspondence - Mobility of artistic styles - Loan words in medieval languages - Circulation of ideas
We welcome proposals for 20 minute papers (maximum 250 words). Please submit your proposal together with a brief CV to Maroula Perisanidi (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Elizabeth Wiedenheft (email@example.com) by 15 May 2014.
