Gender Questionsis an interdisciplinary peer-reviewed research journal that publishes high quality articles on all aspects of gender studies, including feminist research, masculinity studies and studies into alternative sexualities. Gender Questions seeks to contribute to South African knowledge production about gender by providing a forum for serious scholarship and rigorous theoretical engagement with Gender Studies. The journal is committed to critical thinking and evaluation, it is international in scope and it intends to make a significant contribution to the generation and dissemination of gender theory emanating from an African context. Scholarly reviews of current books in the field will appear in every issue.
The editorial board encourages authors to submit original research article-length manuscripts (not exceeding 8000 words including endnotes) and an abstract of 200 words that summarizes the argument and significance of the work. Please contact the editors of Gender Questions for submission guidelines for authors. All submissions will be peer-reviewed by means of the double blind system. Book reviews (not exceeding 1500 words) should engage the interpretation, meaning and importance of the author’s argument for a broader scholarly audience.
