The Trans-Border Institute at the University of San Diego's Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies invites proposals to participate in a panel discussion of field projects in the field of conflict resolution, peac -building, and civil society capacit buiding. We're particularly interested in exchanging ideas and experiences with practitioners with projects similar to our "Diplomado"program.
Coordinated by Licenciado Adalberto Saviñon, Centro Lindavista, with Dr. Charles Reilly, USD, Kroc School faculty and staff are participating in in a collaborative venture between the TBI, Centro Lindavista, several universities and NGOS from throughout Mexico and Colombia. Through its on-the-ground partners, Centro Lindavista offers a free diplomado (certificate) program called Ciudadania, Transformación de Conflictos y Paz (Citizenship, Conflict Transformation and Peace). Courses are designed for training of local-level peacebuilders in conflict analysis, human rights and peacebuilding skills building on the prototype course “Citizenship for Peace and Conflict Resolution” offered with Loyola University, Acapulco in 2013.
Kroc School faculty support the diplomado coordinators to construct the 15-week course design and staff contribute by offering full-day course work, materials and facilitation to conduct topically relevant workshop trainings to participants.
If you're interested in participating in a panel discussion of this work at the Pecae & Justice Association Annual Conference in San Diego, October 16-18, 2014, please submit a 100-300 word proposal, along with a c.v. to the following address by March 31, 2014:
