24 & 25 October 2014: Institute of English Studies, University of London, Senate House
Commemorating Chinua Achebe’s work and influence, and marking the fiftieth anniversary of the publication of Arrow of God, which many consider Achebe’s greatest novel, the conference will be held at the University of London Senate House, October 24-25, 2014. In addition to keynote addresses, readings, and round table discussions involving distinguished academics and writers, we envisage several carefully selected panel discussions, one or more focussing on Arrow of God, and one or more considering Achebe’s legacy and influence.
We invite proposals for 20 minute panel presentations. Please send abstracts of not more than 200 words to Professor Lyn Innes (email@example.com) no later than 16 April, 2014. Those chosen to participate in the panels will be notified by the end of May.
Conference Organizing Committee: Professor Alastair Niven (Chair); Ms Suzie Huggins (Stirling); Professor Lyn Innes; Dr Mark Mathuray (Royal Holloway, London); Dr Stephen Morton (Southampton); Dr Zoe Norridge (Kings College London); Dr Ranka Primorac (Southampton); Dr Wim Van Mierlo (Institute of English Studies).
