Applications due March 1: Victorian Society Summer Schools in Newport and London
Applications are due March 1, 2014 for the annual Victorian Society in America Summer Schools based in Newport, RI and London.The courses focus on architecture, art, interiors, landscape design, and social history, as well as historic preservation, with visits to important public and private spaces and lectures by noted experts. Graduate students, museum professionals, academics, architects and designers, related professionals, as well as non-professionals are encouraged to apply.Full and partial scholarships are available for a limited number of qualified applicants.
The Newport course, Friday, May 30 – Sunday, June 8, 2014, is led by the celebrated architectural historian Richard Guy Wilson. The London course, Saturday, June 28 – Sunday, July 12, 2014, is led by British historian Ian Cox and includes a 5-day tour of the English Midlands.
