The International Conference and Study Day are the culmination of the AHRC-funded phase of the 'Atlantic Sounds: Music, ships and sailortowns' network, building on the three specialised colloquia in 2013. The International Conference will take place on 14-15 March 2014 at the Foresight Centre, University of Liverpool, UK.
Registration for the conference is now open; priced at £50 for two days and free for registered students, unwaged and retired. Registrations after this date will incur an additional charge of £20.
Keynote speakers: Professor J. Revell Carr, Associate Professor of Ethnomusicology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro; Paula J. Johnson, Curator in the Division of Work and Industry at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
