Call for submissions for Science in Culture Theme Ignite 2014
We are inviting proposals for an AHRC Science in Culture Theme Ignite event which will take place on the afternoon of 26th March 2014 at the Natural History Museum in London. The event will showcase the best of current interdisciplinary research across the Arts, Humanities and Science. The event will provide an opportunity to demonstrate the excitement of cutting edge research that crosses traditional disciplinary boundaries. The deadline for applications is 17th February 2014.
Who can participate?
Proposals are invited from Early Career Researchers based in the Arts and Humanities and Sciences. Topics should relate to the aims of the AHRC Science in Culture Theme, which is committed to encouraging mutual exchange and research collaboration which is potentially transformative of each discipline. How will it work?
This is a Science in Culture Theme Ignite event. Ignite is a unique format concerned with communicating complex ideas in a clear and engaging style. Speakers are given 5 minutes to talk about their ideas accompanied by 20 slides which are operated automatically. After 5 minutes, itís on to the next speaker. The evening will conclude with a networking reception. The event will be open to the public as well as attracting an invited audience of journalists, academics and cultural professionals.
