DEADLINE EXTENDED: Southern Cultures Music Issue Call for Submissions
Call for Papers Date:
Southern Cultures, the award-winning quarterly from UNC's Center for the Study of the American South, encourages submissions from scholars and other thoughtful writers for our 7th Music Issue. We will be accepting submissions for this special issue through January 27, 2014.
Submissions can explore any topic or theme related to southern music, including its practitioners, audiences, critics, influences, reach, genres, etc. We publish scholarly essays, memoir, surveys, photo essays, and shorter feature articles.
We encourage authors to gain familiarity with the tone, scope, and style of our Music Issues before submitting. Those whose institutions subscribe to Project Muse can read past examples for free via our Music Subject Page: http://southerncultures.org/read/read-by-subject/music/.
During the past year, over 70,000 people have read Southern Cultures in print, accessed our content online, and downloaded our eBooks--including students and scholars in more than 70 countries. To read our current issue, access our submission guidelines, or browse our content, please visit us online at SouthernCultures.org.
