The Sports Studies Caucus of the American Studies Association seeks
panel proposals for the 2014 Annual Meeting in Los Angeles, CA, November 6-9, 2014.
In particular, we seek proposals that address the 2014 Annual Meeting theme: “The Fun and the Fury: New Dialectics of Pleasure and Pain In the Post-American Century.” We likewise encourage panel submissions that engage the Southern California sports-scape, which is ripe for critical inquiry.
We also urge interested parties to consider non-traditional panel formats and the creation of interlocking or related panel sessions. For more information on panel formatting, visit http://www.theasa.net/submit_a_proposal and scroll down to the header marked “Proposal Types.”
Have a panel idea? Visit our web page Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/135180959965247/) to seek like-minded presenters, or contact Noah Cohan at [firstname.lastname@example.org]. Panel proposals submitted by Jan. 13 will be considered for caucus sponsorship by a vote of our members. To be considered, please e-mail email@example.com with a list of panelists and an abstract of 300 words.
