This course is based in both Spain and Italy. Participants will spend time excavating the Roman city of Sanisera in Menorca, Spain, where fieldwork focuses on the excavation of an urban area where a monastery has been found. In the laboratory students will learn to classify artifacts found, including Roman pottery, numismatics and faunal remains. Participants then will travel to Italy on an archaeological tour of Roma and Pompeii.
