Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield, United Kingdom
Call for presentations:
The Korean Screen Culture conference 2014 will be hosted by Stage and Screen Studies, Department of Humanities at Sheffield Hallam University. This will be the third annual conference, and we welcome proposals for papers and panels on all aspects of South Korean screen culture (production, distribution & reception of film, television, music video, games, etc.).
• Professor Chris Berry (Dept. Film Studies, King’s College, London)
• Dr Michelle Cho (Dept. of East Asian Studies, McGill University, Canada)
For the 2014 event, we are particularly interested in proposals that reflect and explore the transnational and transmedia aspects in Korean screen culture such as the impacts of the Korean Wave (Hallyu), transnational adaptations, co-productions, collaborations, and various transmedia practices.
Please submit abstracts of about 200 words, along with a short bio, to Dr Chi-Yun Shin (firstname.lastname@example.org) by 28 February 2014. Please note that all received submissions will be acknowledged via return e-mail.
Korean Screen Culture 2014 has been timed to immediately follow Sheffield Doc/Fest 2014 (June 7-12).
