The British Commission for Maritime History, in association with the National Museum of the Royal Navy, invites contributions to its twenty-second conference for new researchers. Hosted in Portsmouth’s historic dockyard, the conference provides a unique opportunity for emerging scholars to present their work in one of the world’s most important historic maritime settings.
The Conference supports emerging scholars who wish to share their work in a supportive environment and build relations with other maritime historians. We encourage applications from research degree students and warmly encourage participation by independent scholars. While the Museum welcomes research that reflects its mission to promote naval history, the organisers encourage contributions that address all aspects of the maritime history in its broadest sense.
Those wishing to offer a paper should complete the online form available from http://goo.gl/yvs0Sk. Please direct any queries to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The deadline is 15 February 2012
Anyone interested in attending the conference without presenting a paper is also warmly invited to register an interest: further information will be sent to you in due course.
