Proposed Panel for the 2014 Screen Studies Conference, University of Glasgow, 27-29 June 2014
"Collaborative Cinematic Landscapes"
This panel seeks paper proposals for a pre-formed panel submission to the 2014 Screen Studies Conference (Conference theme: Landscape and Environment; see the Screen Studies website for more detail). The panel participants will be expected to work together and share content prior to the conference to develop the ideas of individual papers into a cohesive final product.
The organizers of the panel welcome proposals for papers that, while addressing the broader conference theme, will add a new dimension to the panel by focusing particularly on the idea of collaboration within the exhibition or distribution process. This focus might address, but is certainly not limited to, such subjects as:
- non-traditional or collective spaces of exhibition
- local or international community movements or arts collectives
- digital distribution networks
- collaborative curation or screening practices
Practice-based submissions are welcome, but must demonstrate an engagement with relevant theoretical concerns.
Please send proposals of no more than 200 words to Dr Jennie Carlsten (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Dr Aaron Hunter (email@example.com) by 2 December 2013 for full consideration.
