Call for Papers and Panels for "Intersections: The First Annual Kansas Conference on History" in Lawrence Kansas on April 25-26, 2014.
This conference invites paper proposals that explore some aspect of history through “Intersections," where a confluence of agents and actions results in change. Scholarly papers that engage the theme of intersections in any period or geographic region are welcome, as are interdisciplinary papers that incorporate some historical approach in their project. We invite contributions from advanced undergraduate, graduate, early career, and established scholars. Individual paper submissions are accepted and panel submissions are strongly encouraged.
The Kansas Conference on History is an annual conference at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. It is co-hosted by the History Graduate Student Organizations at Kansas State University and at the University of Kansas.
Graduate students are invited to apply for the award for Best Conference Paper by a Graduate Student in the amount of $100. We will also award the Best Conference Paper by an Undergraduate Student with $50. To be considered for these awards,complete papers must be submitted to the award committee at email@example.com by 11:59pm, CST on Saturday March 15, 2014. The awards will be presented at a closing reception following presentation sessions on Saturday April 26, 2014.
Abstract Submission: Paper proposals should provide the paper title and a 300-word(maximum) abstract in addition to identifying the presenter and her or his institutional
affiliation. Panel submissions should include in a single document the titles, abstracts, and identifying information for all papers, presenters, and commentator (if applicable). Abstracts must be submitted as a PDF (preferred) or as a MS Word document to firstname.lastname@example.org.
