In Spring 2013, Montclair State University's Center for Heritage and Archeology Studies conducted an archaeological shovel test survey on the grounds of the Montclair Historical Society. Under the direction of Professor Chris Matthews, the students excavated more than 2500 artifacts from 23 shovel test pits revealing 200 years of history on the site.
Dr. Matthews will present the results of the study this Sunday, November 17, at 3 pm in the program room of the Israel Crane House, located at 108 Orange Road, Montclair.
