This major international conference at the University of Cambridge brings together an impressive range of papers that consider visual, symbolic and material aspects of the esoteric tradition.
Topics range from Egyptian tomb magic, amulets and protective charms, to alchemical illustrations, witchcraft and sexuality, to occultism and spirituality in modern art, spectacle and performance.
Overall, the two-day conference will feature 36 twenty-minute papers as well as longer keynote lectures by Prof. Antoine Faivre (Emeritus Professor, Sorbonne), Prof. Emilie Savage-Smith (University of Oxford), Prof. M. E. Warlick (University of Denver), Dr Marco Pasi (University of Amsterdam) and Dr Sarah Victoria Turner (Paul Mellon Centre, London).
