Horst Bredekamp is Professor of Art History at the Humboldt University in Berlin and Permanent Fellow of the Institute for Advanced Studies, Berlin.
His Art- and visual research is characterized by an enormous breadth and interdisciplinary. He has received wide recognition not least for his early contributions to Art History as Bildwissenschaft.
