This one day symposium seeks to combine the two 'hottest' areas of recent historical research: food and the First World
War, the respective themes of the annual Anglo - American Conference of Historians in 2013 and 2014.
In 2014, to mark the centenary of the Great War eight speakers will explore the moral, nutritional, social and economical role of food and drink on the Western Front and beyond.
The conference is sponsored by the Society for the Study of French History and the Economic History Society.
