Millersville University of Pennsylvania is pleased to announce the 33rd Conference on the Holocaust and Genocide, which will take place at the university on April 2-4, 2014. The 33rd Conference will discuss the various forms of resistance to the Holocaust and Genocide: armed and passive resistance, uprisings in the ghettos and concentration camps, partisan and underground movements, church resistance, aid and rescue of the victims of the Holocaust and Genocide. The Conference will commemorate the centenary of the beginning of World War I and the Armenian Genocide, 75 years since the beginning of World War II and the twentieth anniversary of the Rwandan genocide.
The organizers of the Conference invite proposals for individual papers and panels, which focus on resistance to the Nazi regime and the Holocaust, on the Armenian, Rwandan or other genocides, and on Holocaust education. A one-page paper proposal (double-spaced) should be submitted with a one-page curriculum vitae and contact information (email, mail address, and phone number). Panel organizers should submit a cover sheet stating the title of your panel, all individual paper titles, and contact information for each presenter. Panel proposals should also include individual paper proposals and one-page CVs. Please send your materials as email attachments in .doc or .docx format with your first and last name in the title of files. Foreign scholars should inform us if they need support letters for a U.S. visa for conference attendance.
Please send your proposal by email to Dr. Victoria Khiterer: firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline for all proposals is January 15, 2014. Decisions regarding the acceptance of papers and panels will be made by February 1, 2014. The conference is free and open to the public.
