This year (2013) marks the 150th anniversary of the organization of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the 40th anniversary of the founding of the General Conference Archives. The Association of Seventh-day Adventist Historians and the General Conference Office of Archives, Statistics, and Research, jointly call for proposals for papers on Adventist history, history writing, and history teaching, after 150 years.
January 2014, following the end of the 150th anniversary year of the founding of the SDA Church, is a natural time to consider the state of Adventist history and historiography. This conference will be held immediately after the conclusion of the annual meetings of the American Historical Association and the American Society of Church History in Washington, D.C. The symposium will be held at the Seventh-day Adventist World Headquarters, in Silver Spring, Md.
