Call for papers and book reviews in APUNTES 75: Multinationals and Multilatinas
Call for Papers Date:
APUNTES, a peer-reviewed social science journal, edited by the Research Center of the Universidad del Pacífico, invites researchers to submit articles and reviews for its 75th publication, which will be devoted to the subject of "Multinationals and Multilatinas: the Internationalization of companies in Latin America, 1900-2010".
The edition will analyze the continuities and changes in the processes of internalization of companies in the region between the first and second period of globalization. It aims to examine the forms of foreign direct investment, and particularly the history, strategies, and impact of multinational corporations on the emerging economies of Latin America. It will also consider the processes of internationalization of Latin American firms from the perspective of business history. Since the early twentieth century, multinationals from European countries, USA, and later Japan intensified their presence in Latin America. In the second globalization, a nascent movement in the opposite direction is identified as multinational companies in Latin American began to invest and expand their business in North America, Europe and Asia as part of an internationalization process oriented toward global markets.
