2013 marks the centennial of Marcel Proust's Du côté de chez Swann, the first volume of what would become his monumental novel À la recherche du temps perdu. Over the course of a century, the importance of Proust's opus has continued to grow and it is now more popular than ever, despite the characteristics that render it a difficult reading choice, especially in our Twitterized times. Renowned international scholars and writers address the questions of why and how Proust has been read, reread, translated and interpreted in different contexts over the past hundred years. Please visit www.maisonfrancaise.org for full conference program.
Major sponsorship support for this conference was provided by Jeanine Parisier Plottel and the Maurice I. Parisier Foundation. Additional support provided by the Florence Gould Foundation, Air France, and our other Centennial Sponsors.
