I'd like to put together a panel for the women, gender, and sexuality subject area at the Southwest Popular/American Cultural Association Conference in Albuquerque, February 19-22 2014. My own paper deals with networks of pornography distributors advertising in pulp fiction magazines between 1920 and 1939, so if there are enough papers specifically on pornography we could make the panel topic about pornography in popular culture. Alternatively, the panel topic could be expanded to be a more general theme on sexuality in popular culture. I'd especially like to see papers that deal with transnationalism in some respect. In keeping with the conference theme of "Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow," I'd be interested in combining papers from the history with ones on contemporary issues and themes.
Panel submission deadline is November 1st.
