For centuries, the Atlantic Ocean has served as the world’s major corridor for the exchange of people, ideas, commodities, and technologies between the continents. Acknowledging the significance of transatlantic exchange for the study of history, Florida International University’s Department of History Graduate Student Association dedicated its annual scholarly publication to showcasing fresh scholarship with a transatlantic perspective. Published in print and online, The Atlantic Millennium provides upcoming researchers an opportunity to present their original research to a wide scholarly audience.
The Editorial Board of The Atlantic Millennium is now accepting submissions for the 2013/14 issue (to be published in Fall 2013). No restrictions apply with regard to historical time period and regional settings. Scholarly articles should be between 8,000 and 12,000 words. Scholarly reviews of books (published since 2011) should be between 700 and 1,200 words. All submissions must be formatted in Chicago Manual of Style (16th Edition).
Articles and book reviews must be accompanied by a brief CV of the author. All documents must be submitted electronically via email to AtlanticMillennium@gmail.com. Text files must be submitted as .doc, .docx, and .rtf file types. Photographs and other graphic depictions should be submitted as common picture file types.
All submissions to The Atlantic Millennium are carefully evaluated for content, analytical skill, and verbal style by an editorial board composed of senior graduate students with expertise in various areas. To view the latest issues of The Atlantic Millennium, visit dohgsa.fiu.edu.
