Another session of 'Heretical Texts and Texts About Heresy' is being organized for next year's International Medieval Congress in Leeds. This session---or sessions, if there is enough interest---invites 20-minute papers on any subject involving the theme of heresy and inquisition in relation to the production and circulation of texts in the Middle Ages. Topics may include, but are not limited to:
-The circulation/reception history and/or manuscript traditions of specific heretical or anti-heretical texts.
-The production, transmission, and use of texts within a heretical sect.
-The use of texts in the repression of heresy.
-The treatment of heretical texts (as opposed to people) by inquisitors and other church authorities.
If you are interested in participating, please send the title of your paper to Justine Trombley, firstname.lastname@example.org, by 27th September at the latest, as session proposals are due on 30th September. No abstract is required, but please indicate if you will need any audio-visual equipment. I am also looking for session moderators, so if you would be interested in chairing a session please get in touch.
