On October 11-12, York University, Toronto, Canada, will be holding a conference, "New Directions in US Studies: Re-imagining the 1950s and 1960s." Seven panels will examine recent developments in the fields of history, sociology, literature, political science, as well as in art, film, and music. Professor Paul Buhle from Brown University is the keynoter. The web site gives full information about the panels and registration (which is free).
This conference also signals the launch of the US Studies Program at York.
