Beyond Roe: Reproductive Justice in a Changing World will be held on Friday October 11, 2013 at Rutgers Law in Camden, New Jersey. The conference will bring together scholars, activists, and practitioners to discuss a wide range of issues related to reproductive justice. The conference focuses on justice rather than rights to signal a commitment to discussing the regulation of reproduction, in all the forms that such regulation takes, from a social justice perspective. Panel speakers will cover a wide-range of topics including faith and reproductive justice, assisted reproduction and women’s equality, abortion regulation, and justice in childbirth. The conference will offer an opportunity to look beyond Roe and abortion to explore how to create a world in which reproductive justice is available to all.
Byllye Avery, founder of the Black Women's Health Imperative will deliver the keynote speech at the conference.
