I am looking for 2 paper presenters, 2 commentators and 1 chair for a proposed session on the South from the end of the Civil War to the turn of the twentieth century for the 2014 Southern Historical Association (SHA) annual meeting in Atlanta, GA. My own work will examine daughterhood as an organizing principle around which women formed societies that pursued not only Civil War memory, but civic and cultural work as well. Depending on interests, this session could focus on various topics, including but not limited to Civil War memory, women in the New South, southern gender expectations, clubs and organizations, etc. If you're interested it participating, please email me no later than September 1, 2013.
