Caching the eye. Architecture, ritual and reliquaries from the later Middle Ages through the early modern context of the Catholic Reform (Call for papers for the IMC 2014 (International Medieval Conference, 7-14 July, Leeds))
We would like to invite art historical and interdisciplinary papers on the relation between ritual, reliquary, liturgy, vision and architecture in the late medieval and early modern culture. We are particularly interested in approaches that combine textual, architectural and/or art historical sources and examine reliquaries in a wide variety of settings (monasteries, mendicant and parish churches, cathedrals).
