Meeting at USC Aiken on November 9, 2013, the symposium will look broadly at issues of demographic change and electoral politics in South Carolina. We hope to draw papers from diverse fields in the humanities and social sciences related to this theme, and welcome broad interpretations of these terms. Contributions might address demographic change or political stability in the South from historical, literary, philosophical, or artistic angles and we encourage submissions that push the boundaries of these themes. It is our hope to provide a forum for scholars throughout the region and beyond.
Those interested in presenting should send a 300 word proposal along with a brief biography and current contact information, to email@example.com by August 15, 2013. Participants will be notified of accepted proposals by September 1, 2013.
