Call for monographs on modern and contemporary non-Western art
Enzo Arts and Publishing was founded by researchers with the aim of disseminating scholarship on contemporary art for emerging markets to the widest possible academic and non-academic readerships. Disenchanted with large publishing houses that offer no support or remuneration to academics, we have established a publishing solution that better serves writers and readers alike.
THE COMMISSIONING PROCESS
In the first instance, please make contact with us at email@example.com to discuss your idea. We accept submissions of any research connected to modern and contemporary Asian and South American art history or visual culture. "Asia" is broadly defined to include East, South and Central Asia and the Middle East. We are also interested in other areas of the non-Western world. As a rule we will not consider works dealing primarily with art produced prior to the nineteenth century.
Your email should include an abstract and sample chapter, together with a list of illustrations (and their respective rights holders/collections where known) and an approximate word count for the finished manuscript. If the work is still in progress please state when you expect to be able to submit the final manuscript to us. We'll also need details about your current affiliation (if any), a short biography, and a list of any previous publications. The most vital information that we need is a clear statement of how your research makes an original contribution to the field and differs from existing publications on the subject matter. Your submission will be reviewed and you will hear back from us within eight weeks. Your manuscript may be accepted or rejected, or we may write back with ideas on how you might alter your work to make it more marketable if appropriate. We will then agree a date for submission of the final manuscript and begin to clear reproduction rights. Download our style guide from enzoarts.com/commissioning for further advice on preparation of the manuscript. The book will be published approximately eight weeks after your final text is submitted.
Further information on the process and our areas of publication is available at enzoarts.com/commissioning. We can only accept material submitted by email and apologise that, due to the volume of submissions we receive not all submissions will receive an immediate response. Please send your work to firstname.lastname@example.org; any enquiries and requests for information are also welcomed at this address.
